  • You should avoid buying bruised bananas and prioritize choosing those that are of moderate size. If the fruit is too large, it may have been treated with too many chemicals or growth hormones. Conversely, if the fruit is too small, it might be under-ripe and forced to ripen.
  • It is advisable to prioritize buying ripe bananas, but with some green and yellow ones. These fruits are usually naturally ripened, while those ripened with chemicals will have a very beautiful, uniform yellow color.
  • Naturally ripe bananas will have an even ripeness in the stem, body, and bunch (although there may be some green fruits). Forced-ripened bananas will have yellow fruits, but the stems are hard and sometimes still a bit green.

How to choose delicious fresh dragon fruit

  • You should choose dragon fruits that are round and big on the outside, with smooth and shiny skin, which indicates that the dragon fruit is ripe and still fresh.
  • A good fruit will usually have a uniform, vibrant color, without bruises or damage. If it is red-skinned dragon fruit, choose those with a deep red color and shiny skin.
  • Delicious dragon fruit will have a stem and ears that are soft and pliable; when you bend them with your hand, you will feel their elasticity, and the color of the stem and ears will be slightly bright, looking still fresh.
  • When you gently press the fruit, it should feel moderately soft, slightly elastic, indicating that the flesh of the fruit is still firm.
  • The fruit will emit a gentle fruity aroma; avoid those that have a strong smell like fermentation and especially do not choose those with unusual odors.

Where to buy mixed dried seeds?

  • You can easily find mixed dried seeds at supermarkets, grocery stores, and e-commerce websites.
  • When buying, make sure to look for reputable brands, check that the packaging is intact and the production date is the most recent. Avoid buying those that have been stored for a long time as they may easily smell rancid.

    Bananas and dragon fruits bought should be peeled, cutting off the ends. Then, use a knife to cut them into small pieces to make blending easier.

    • To make the smoothie thicker and not watery during use, you should freeze the fruits for about 6 – 8 hours in the refrigerator. When making the smoothie, just take them out to blend without adding extra ice cubes.
    • If you like it sweet and creamy, you can add a bit of condensed milk.

    Pour the Dragon Fruit Banana Smoothie into a glass, decorate the surface with the remaining half of the banana, 1 tablespoon of chia seeds, and a bit of mixed dried nuts to make the smoothie more visually appealing and provide additional nutrients from the nuts.
