How to choose fresh cherries
- Choose cherries that are just ripe, with a slight sour taste so that when making the beverage, it will retain the natural sweet and sour flavor of cherries and not become mushy during cooking.
- It’s best to buy large, round fruits with shiny skin and no pests.
- Avoid choosing overly green fruits as they will not have a rich flavor when making the beverage.
How to choose fresh and delicious pineapple
- Color: you should choose fruits that are bright yellow from the stem to the tip, there may be a few eyes that are slightly green, but it still retains a certain sweetness.
- Shape: Pineapples that are round and short will have more flesh compared to long-shaped ones.
- Pineapple eyes: Choose fruits with large, sparse eyes as this indicates that the pineapple is mature and ripened naturally without being soaked in chemicals.
- Fragrance: you can try to smell the end of the fruit, if it has a pleasant aroma, you should buy it. Additionally, avoid choosing fruits with a slightly sour smell resembling fermentation, as those pineapples are overripe.
- The pineapple crown: A greener crown indicates that the pineapple is fresher. Overripe pineapples will have dry or brown crowns.
- Touch: A good, fresh pineapple will not be too hard or too soft; when you press your finger into it, there should be no indentation.
How to choose fresh and ripe jackfruit
- For whole ripe jackfruit, you should choose fruits that are of moderate size, with the spines on the skin fully opened, having a strong characteristic aroma, and a slight softness when pressed.
- Avoid choosing fruits that are too light, have no aroma, with the spines on the skin not opened, and feel very hard when pressed. They may not be ripe.
- For pre-cut ripe jackfruit, choose pieces with bright yellow segments, a strong aroma, thin skin, and minimal fibrous parts.
- Avoid choosing jackfruit pieces that are too pale, have no characteristic aroma, have too much fiber, or show signs of browning. They may be spoiled or have been stored for too long, lacking freshness.
