Ingredients for making Yogurt with a microwave For 2 people
Fresh milk 400 ml Condensed milk 100 ml Yogurt 1 cup
How to make Yogurt with a microwave
-
Sterilize the container
Clean the glass jar, dry it, and put it in the microwave. Microwave on high power for 3 minutes to sterilize.
Note: Since this is a guide to making yogurt with a microwave, please choose a type of glass container as it has a high heat resistance. Do not use plastic containers or nylon bags as they have poor heat resistance and will melt during the process in the microwave.
-
Heat the milk mixture
Put 200ml of fresh milk and 100ml of condensed milk into a bowl, and stir well.
Then, place the bowl of milk in the microwave and heat it on high for 5 minutes, then take it out.
-
Make yogurt
Next, while stirring the heated milk mixture, slowly pour in 200ml of fresh milk. Stir well. Then add 1/2 jar of yogurt to the milk mixture and stir everything together.
After the yogurt mixture is complete, pour it into the prepared glass jars. Finally, place it in the microwave and heat on medium for about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
After 1 hour and 30 minutes of yogurt incubation in the microwave, set the medium speed for another 5 minutes.
After those 5 minutes, leave the yogurt in the incubator for another 6 hours.
-
Completion
After incubating the yogurt, place it in the refrigerator for 4 – 5 hours to set the yogurt.
-
Final Product
When you eat it, you will feel the smoothness and creaminess of the yogurt combined with the rich, subtly sweet flavor of fresh milk and condensed milk.
Tips for successful execution
- All yogurt-making tools, especially the jars, need to be sterilized to prevent contamination, ensuring the yogurt is perfect. Doing this can avoid issues like sliminess, dilution, or a green/yellow color, unpleasant smell, or bitter taste.
- Minimize moving or touching the yogurt jars during incubation, as this can cause the yogurt to separate, become lumpy, and affect the thickening process of the milk.
Tips for yogurt storage:
You can store it in the refrigerator’s cool compartment for 1 to 2 weeks; if stored in a cool place, it should be consumed within 2 days after preparation.
