How to make Dried Rice with Black Sesame Sugar

  • Roasting Dried Rice

    Place a pan on the stove, wait until the pan is hot, then add the dried rice to the pan. Roast over medium heat for about 8 minutes until the dried rice turns slightly golden, then reduce the heat and continue to stir for about 4 more minutes until the rice is evenly golden, then turn off the heat and transfer the roasted dried rice to a bowl lined with oil-absorbing paper or napkin.

    Next, place a pot on the stove, add the black sesame seeds to the pan, and roast evenly for about 1 minute until the black sesame seeds puff up and make a popping sound, then turn off the heat and transfer to a bowl.

  • Stirring Rice with Sugar

How to make dry rice with jaggery

  • Fry the dry rice

    Add 150ml of cooking oil to the pan, wait until the oil is hot, then put a bit of fried rice into the strainer and dip this strainer into the oil to fry.

    Use chopsticks to stir the dry rice in the strainer over medium heat for about 3 minutes until the rice grains turn golden and fluffy, then transfer to a bowl. Do the same for all the dry rice!

    • To ensure the rice grains puff up well, wait until the oil is really hot before adding the rice to fry.
    • To avoid the rice becoming hard and not puffing evenly, you should fry the rice in small batches, only 2 handfuls of dry rice at a time!
