How to cook Stir-fried chayote with carrots

  • Prepare chayote and carrots

    You prepare a basin of water, put the chayote and carrots into the basin, use a double-edged knife to peel the chayote and carrots, rinse with clean water, and drain.

    Next, you use a grater to shred the chayote and carrots to a length of about 3 fingers, marinate with 1 tablespoon of seasoning powder, stir well and let sit for about 5 minutes to absorb the spices.

When peeling, soak the chayote in the bowl of water for about 1 – 2 minutes to reduce the sap inside, thus preventing it from sticking to your hands.
  • After soaking the chayote, take it out, cut it in half. If there is still sap sticking to your hands, continue soaking for 1 – 2 minutes and then cut the chayote into smaller pieces.

How to remove chayote sap from your hands

  • To remove chayote sap from your hands, take a bit of kitchen ash and rub it thoroughly on both hands; the sodium salt in the kitchen ash will help absorb the chayote sap.
