How to choose fresh shrimp
- You should choose shrimp with a transparent shell, a tail that is curled, and a slightly curved body as these indicate the shrimp are still fresh.
- Additionally, choose shrimp with heads firmly attached to the bodies and flexible shell joints.
- Avoid shrimp that have turned dark brown, are slimy, have heads detached from the bodies, and especially those with an unusual fishy smell indicating they are spoiled.
How to choose fresh bamboo shoots
- You should choose young bamboo shoots, with thin skins, crunchy, uniform-sized joints, straight shape, and especially a distinctive fragrant smell.
- Avoid choosing bamboo shoots that are too white, have a bent shape, show many tiny black spots, and feel non-sticky to the touch.
