How to Prepare Fried Tofu

  • Prepare the Ingredients

    The tofu you bought should be cut into small pieces that are about the thickness of a finger.

    Crack the eggs and put them in a bowl, beat them well until the eggs are mixed.

  • Coat the Tofu with Breadcrumbs

    Put the cut tofu into a bowl and roll it in flour until the flour evenly coats the tofu pieces.

    Next, place the tofu into the bowl of beaten eggs.

    Finally, roll the tofu pieces in breadcrumbs so that the breadcrumbs stick evenly to the tofu. Do the same for all the pieces of tofu.

  • Fry soft tofu

    Place a pan on the stove, add 400ml of cooking oil to the pan. Wait until the oil is hot, then add the soft tofu that has been rolled in the flour to fry on low heat.

    Fry for about 10 – 15 minutes until the soft tofu is golden brown and crispy on all sides, then remove and drain the oil.

  • Prepare the ingredients

    The tofu you buy should be carefully rinsed with water, then use a knife to cut it into small pieces, about the thickness of a finger.

    Crack the eggs into a bowl, add in 1/3 of a spoon of salt, 1/3 of a teaspoon of ground pepper, 1/3 of a teaspoon of seasoning, and 1/3 of a teaspoon of sugar, then stir well to combine the mixture.

  • Prepare the batter

    Put 100g of crispy batter and the mixed eggs into a clean bowl.

    Next, add 70ml of filtered water into the bowl and use a spoon to stir the mixture until the batter reaches a certain smooth consistency, not too thick and not too runny.

  • Coat the tofu with the crispy batter

    First, take each piece of prepared tofu and dip it into the bowl of freshly prepared crispy batter.

    Then, roll the dipped tofu piece in the layer of bread crumbs so that the crumbs evenly cover the tofu piece. Do the same for all the remaining ingredients.

    After coating with crumbs, let the tofu sit outside for about 20 minutes before frying. This method helps to prevent the bread crumbs from falling off the tofu while frying.
