How to make Rich Coconut Milk

  • Cooking Coconut Milk

    You place a non-stick pan on the stove, add 400ml of canned coconut milk, 50g of sugar, 8g of tapioca flour, 4g of rice flour, 4g of salt, and 125g of water (about 1/2 cup of water) into the pan. Then, you stir well to combine the mixture.

    You turn on the stove, cook the coconut milk over low heat, and continuously stir to prevent the bottom from burning. When you see the coconut milk boil and thicken, you can turn off the heat.

    Tip:
    • If you’re using freshly squeezed coconut milk, you can adjust or omit the added water to avoid making the coconut milk too watery.
    • If you like to eat coconut milk with chopped green onions, you can prepare a small amount of chopped green onions and add them to the hot coconut milk.

    With just a few simple steps, you can immediately have a bowl of rich and delicious coconut milk, with a very appealing salty flavor.

    You can use this coconut milk for dipping familiar dishes like steamed rice cake, sweet rice cake, leaf cake, and jelly cake,… Or pour it over various types of pumpkin pudding, tapioca pudding, banana pudding,… which is also very tasty.

    When eating, drizzle a little coconut milk over the cake or pudding, then sprinkle some roasted sesame on top to finish.

How to Store Cooked Coconut Milk

  • Cooked coconut milk, if left at room temperature, can only be used within the day.
  • If you don’t use it all, you can put the cooked coconut milk in the refrigerator refrigerator and use it up within 2 – 3 days.
