How to choose fresh and delicious ingredients
How to choose ripe, sweet and fresh mangoes
- Choose those that are ripe yellow and feel firm in hand, with glossy and smooth skin. When gently pressed, you can feel the firmness of the mango flesh, not soft or bruised, which indicates good ripe mangoes.
- Sweet ripe mangoes will have a naturally attractive fragrance, and the base of the stem will be slightly indented.
- Avoid choosing mangoes that are blackened or have an unpleasant smell as these are of poor quality.
How to choose delicious, quality grapefruit
- Choose grapefruit with shiny, firm skin, yellowish color; when held, it feels heavy, and the skin is still fresh, not dry.
- Good quality grapefruit has a small stem, a flat bottom, and when you flick the skin with your finger, it makes a “pop pop” sound.
- Avoid choosing grapefruit with small, thick bumps, as this indicates that the fruit is still young, has little pulp, and the segments will be small and sour.
- You can buy whole grapefruits to peel yourself or buy pre-segmented grapefruit. For pre-segmented grapefruit, choose those that are still juicy, not wilted, and are carefully packaged, sold at reputable supermarkets and grocery stores.
Where to buy the ingredients?
- You can buy tapioca starch and coconut milk in convenient canned form at supermarkets, grocery stores, and reputable e-commerce sites. Additionally, you can also buy at TasteVN supermarkets or online at bachhoaxanh.com.
- To ensure quality, you can make coconut milk at home following the recipe from TasteVN.

How to make Mango Pomelo Sago Dessert

Prepare the ingredients
Sago should be soaked in cold water for about 15 minutes.
Next, place a pot of water on the stove and bring it to a boil over medium heat. When the water boils, add the soaked sago and cook for about 15 – 20 minutes until the sago becomes transparent.
After boiling, rinse the sago with cold water to prevent the sago pearls from sticking together.
