  • Avoid buying overly large water spinach stems, dark green in color, with big and long leaves, as this often indicates old or chemically treated vegetables, which will not taste good and are harmful to health.

How to choose fresh mackerel

  • Observe the fish’s eyes: If the eyes are bright, clear, and slightly bulging, it means the fish is still fresh. Avoid buying fish with cloudy eyes, slightly sunken eyes, and large eye sockets as these are signs that the fish has been refrigerated for many days.

  • Prepare and boil the fish

    Wash the mackerel thoroughly. Then, boil 50g of mackerel briefly in hot water for about 3 minutes.

    For shallots, peel off the skin, wash them clean and then finely chop.
