  • For fresh squid, the color of the eyes will be clear, not bulging out. Squid that is not fresh will have cloudy eyes and may sometimes leak fluid.

  • Prepare and marinate the squid

    After purchasing, remove the tentacles from the squid body and pull out the squid’s ink sac.

    Next, remove the eyes and beak, peel the skin, and wash the squid with clean water or saltwater 2 – 3 times.

    Finally, cut the squid into bite-sized pieces.

    • Step 1: Use one hand to hold the squid body and the other to hold the squid head, gently pull up and carefully peel off the ink sac.
    • Step 2: Use a knife to cut off the squid’s eyes and beak.
    • Step 3: Use a knife to make a light cut along the head of the squid body. One hand should firmly hold the squid meat while the other pulls the skin up.
    • Step 4: Clean the innards and head of the squid and rinse thoroughly with water.

    After preparing, marinate the squid with 1 tablespoon of seasoning and 1/3 tablespoon of sugar. Mix well and let the squid marinate for 15 minutes for the flavors to penetrate.

  • Prepare other ingredients
