  • You should choose round tubers that are shaped like chicken eggs. The outer skin is rough, has many roots, and dirt still clings to the skin. The size of the taro should be medium, not too large or too small.
  • Choose tubers that feel light when picked up because such tubers usually have less water and a higher starch content.
  • Pay attention to the eyes of the taro, choose tubers with many holes as they will be tastier than those with few holes.
  • Avoid buying deformed tubers, those that are too smooth on the outside, and feel heavy when picked up as these tubers often contain more water and will not be tasty when eaten.

    Add 2 tablespoons of water to the taro, cover it with plastic wrap. Place the bowl of taro in the microwave and heat for about 3 minutes at a temperature of around 140 – 160 degrees Celsius.

    Then take it out, mix the taro well and put it back in the microwave for another 2 minutes, then take it out and let it cool for about 15 minutes.

    Tip: If you don’t have a microwave at home, you can also steam the taro in a steamer for about 8 minutes over medium heat.
