Ingredients for Banana Rice Paper For 4 people
Bananas 2 pieces
How to choose good bananas
- To make the cake more delicious, you should choose Siam bananas or green bananas, as these types are usually chewy and sweeter than other bananas.
- Choose ripe yellow bananas with bright yellow skin; avoid those that are overripe and may spoil easily.
- Choose bananas that are intact, without cracks, no dark spots, and not leaking juice; those are fresh and good bananas to select.
- You can utilize overripe bananas at home to make this dish.
How to make Banana Rice Paper
-
Cut bananas into small pieces
Peel the bananas, then use a knife to cut them into thin round slices.
-
Arrange bananas in the mold
You use plastic wrap to line the inside of small molds, stacking the bananas on top so that there are no gaps left.
Tip: You can replace plastic wrap with rice paper.
-
Press bananas
Add another layer of plastic wrap over the bananas, place a similar-sized mold on top, and apply strong pressure to thin out the layer of bananas in the middle.
-
Dry bananas
Line a baking tray with a piece of aluminum foil and spray a little water on top. Remove the plastic wrap from the pressed banana and place it on the baking tray.
Put the baking tray outside in the sunlight and dry for about 4 hours until the surface of the banana rice paper is dry. Flip the rice paper and continue to dry for another 4 hours.
Tip: If you want to speed up the process, you can put it in the oven at 50 degrees Celsius for 1 hour and flip the dried bananas to continue for about 1 hour at 50 degrees Celsius.

Final product
Each piece of pressed banana cake is dried under the summer sun, making the surface of the cake dry and darker in color. When eaten, one can feel the inherent sweetness of the banana along with the chewy, sticky texture of the cake, creating an unusual, irresistible taste!
How to store the cake
The pressed banana cake after drying should be stored in a dry, cool place. Alternatively, you can place the pressed bananas in a sealed plastic bag and keep them in the refrigerator to use gradually.
