How to choose fresh and delicious kiwi
- To buy fresh and delicious kiwi, you should choose large, round fruits that are smooth, without tears, cracks, or scratches.
- Additionally, you can gently press the stem end with your hand; if it feels soft, then those are ripe and sweet fruits. Conversely, if the stem end is still hard, it means the kiwi is not ripe and will taste sour when eaten.
- You should also avoid buying kiwis that are too large or too small, bruised, or misshapen. Moreover, you should steer clear of fruits that show signs of insect bites or have unusual colors.
Where to buy gelatin?
- You can easily find gelatin at specialty stores that sell baking ingredients or order it online on e-commerce websites.
- Additionally, to feel more secure, you can also make gelatin at home following the guide below from TasteVN!
How to make Kiwi Panna Cotta
-
Make the kiwi panna cotta
First, soak 3 sheets of gelatin in 20ml of cold water for about 10 minutes to let the gelatin soften.
Next, add 50gr of yogurt, 150ml of cream, and 50gr of granulated sugar into the pot, grate a little lemon zest to create a fragrant aroma for the dessert (if you don’t have it, you can skip this step!) and stir well.
Place the pot on the stove, heat the mixture on low heat for about 2 – 3 minutes, until it is slightly warm, then turn off the heat. At this point, gently squeeze the 3 sheets of gelatin to remove excess water and add them to the cream mixture, stirring well.
Note- Stir constantly while heating to prevent the cream from burning at the bottom of the pot!
- You should not heat until the mixture boils as it will cause the cream to separate.
-
Completion
You pour the gelatin cream mixture into a cup or glass jar as you like. Arrange the chopped kiwi on top and then place the panna cotta in the refrigerator for about 4 – 6 hours and it’s done!
