How to Choose Quality Fresh Squid

  • You should choose squid that has shiny skin, with a milky white opaque body, and clear eyes that are not bulging out.
  • When pressing with your hand, the squid should be firm and elastic, not mushy, and the tentacles should be tightly attached to each other and not separated.
  • Do not choose squid with cloudy eyes; if observed, there is a slimy substance leaking out, and the tentacles are soft and mushy, lacking elasticity when pressed.

How to prepare Steamed Dried Squid with Ginger

  • Prepare and Marinate the Squid

    After purchasing dried squid, soak it in clean water for about 5 minutes to thaw, then rinse with clean water and drain.

    Next, cut the squid into thick slices about 1 finger length.

    Place the squid in a bowl, add 1 tablespoon of seasoning powder, 1/2 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, and mix well.
