How to Choose Fresh and Delicious Beef

  • Choose beef that is bright red, with light yellow fat, and has a characteristic aroma.
  • Choose small, tender pieces of meat with fine fibers. Pressing with your hand should show good elasticity.
  • If you see small white nodules that are easy to detach on the meat, it may contain worms, so do not buy it.
  • Avoid beef that is pale green or dark red, has dark yellow fat, has white spots, is soft, or has an unusual odor.

How to cook Beef Steak with Red Wine Sauce

  • Searing the beef

    Add a little salt and pepper and rub it evenly on both sides of the beef, letting it marinate for about 10 minutes.

    Place a pan on the stove, turn the heat to high and add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil to heat up.

    When the oil is just hot enough, adjust the heat, place the piece of meat in the center of the pan, and sear each side for 1 minute.

    Next, flip the meat for the second time and continue to sear each side for another 2 minutes, then turn off the heat, transfer the meat to a plate, and let it rest for about 2 minutes.

    Tip:

    • Do not let the oil get too hot before adding the meat as it will cook too quickly and make it hard to control the doneness of the meat.
    • Depending on your preference, you can adjust the searing time to achieve your desired doneness.
    • Letting the meat rest before cutting will help keep it juicy and moist.

  • Grilled Garlic

    Garlic is cut with a knife into quarters horizontally, then grilled for about 2 minutes before being placed in the oven and baked for about 15 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.

    Add 2 tablespoons of melted butter and 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter into the pan used to grill the beef, then melt.

    Next, add 1 tablespoon of flour and 50ml of red wine to the pan, gently stir until the sauce reaches the desired thickness, then turn off the heat.
