Melt the sugar
First, place a pot on the stove, add 7 tablespoons of white granulated sugar and cook it over medium heat until it melts.
When the sugar has just melted, reduce the heat, and stir continuously until the sugar syrup turns a light brown color, then turn off the heat.
Tip:
- To prevent the sugar from burning, keep the heat low while cooking.
- While cooking, remember to stir the sugar continuously to avoid it burning at the bottom.

Mix in baking soda
Next, add 1 teaspoon of baking soda into the pot of sugar syrup, then vigorously stir with a spoon in one direction until the mixture dissolves completely and bubbles form.

Shaping
Prepare a piece of parchment paper or a non-stick silicone surface, while the sugar mixture is still warm, slowly pour the mixture out to form circles of your desired size or one large circle.
Then, use various cookie cutters with different shapes to press down onto the surface of the sugar layer to shape the candy.
Tip: Pour the candy quickly to avoid it from hardening!
