The seeds used for roasting are from the pumpkin (also known as red squash). First, use a knife to cut a portion off the top of the pumpkin or cut it in half to extract the seeds. Then use a spoon to scrape out the seeds and wash them until there is no sticky membrane left on the seeds.

Step 1: First, preheat the air fryer for 10 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius.

Step 2: Then, line the fryer with a piece of parchment paper, and evenly spread the pumpkin seeds on it. You should only put a small amount of seeds to avoid overcrowding, which would prevent even heat distribution.

Step 3: Open the air fryer at a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius, and you need to regularly check the pumpkin seeds to ensure the temperature is suitable and to avoid undercooking or burning the seeds. If you want the seeds to have a bit of flavor, you can toss in a little salt.

3 How to store pumpkin seeds after roasting

Roasted pumpkin seeds have the disadvantage that when exposed to air for too long, they will become soft and lose their crunchiness. Therefore, you should store pumpkin seeds after roasting by placing them in a zip bag or food storage container with a tight lid for later consumption. Keep them in a cool place or in the refrigerator’s vegetable compartment.
