How to Prepare Crispy Fried Squid

  • Prepare the squid

    Soak the squid in diluted saltwater, and wash it thoroughly to remove any unpleasant odor. After that, rinse the squid with clean water 2 – 3 more times and let it drain. Cut the squid into bite-sized pieces.

  • Marinate the squid

    You mix the squid with 1 teaspoon of seasoning, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper, then marinate for 10 minutes.

    You crack 2 eggs into a bowl and beat them well.

    You pour 200ml of cooking oil into the pan, when the oil is hot, add each slice of squid that has been dipped in egg and batter into the pan and fry until crispy over medium heat.

    When the squid is cooked inside and has a crispy golden layer outside, you take the squid out and place it on paper towels to absorb the oil.

  • Prepare the squid

    For fresh squid, clean the squid, remove the head, beak, and eyes, then soak the squid in diluted salt water for about 15 minutes. Next, rinse the squid with clean water and start drying it in the sun.

    To achieve the desired dryness, sun-dry the squid in strong sunlight for 1 day, flipping the squid every 30 minutes. After that, cut the squid into bite-sized pieces.

    For sun-dried squid, rinse the squid clean, let it drain, and cut it into pieces about the size of a finger.
