How to make Peach Yogurt

  • Cook the milk and peach mixture

    Add 1.5 liters of fresh milk, 200ml of condensed milk, and 200ml of peach syrup into a pot. Turn on the stove on low heat, stirring for about 7 – 10 minutes until the mixture starts to warm up, then turn off the stove.

  • Mixing yogurt

    Add into the pot of milk and the freshly cooked peach yogurt, stir well to combine the mixture.

    Note: To ensure our yogurt does not spoil, the yogurt must be at room temperature before mixing, not cold anymore!

  • Pour yogurt into jars

    At this step, you use a funnel or spoon to pour a sufficient amount of yogurt into a clean jar, then cover it with a lid.

    Note: To ensure the yogurt quality is not affected after incubation, you should rinse the container with boiling water for about 1 – 2 minutes before use!

  • Yogurt Incubation

    You prepare a styrofoam box or a pot with a tight lid, and arrange each jar of yogurt evenly inside.

    Mix water in the ratio of 1 rice bowl of boiling water with 2 rice bowls of cold water, then pour enough water to submerge about 1/2 – 2/3 of the yogurt jars.

    Finally, cover it tightly and let it incubate for 6 hours, keeping the temperature between 42 – 43 degrees Celsius, and the yogurt will ferment and thicken on its own.

    After the yogurt has been incubated, put it in the refrigerator refrigerator for about 2 – 3 hours, and it is ready to enjoy.

How to choose fresh, delicious peaches

  • Choose peaches with a dark red outer skin mixed with yellow streaks, firm and shiny skin without dents or scratches, as these indicate good peaches.
  • When ripe, peaches will have a characteristic fragrant aroma, so check the ripeness of the peaches by smelling them; the stronger the fragrance, the riper the peach.
  • You should buy peaches in season, around summer from June, when they are ripest naturally and have the best flavor.

  • Prepare the peaches

    With 1kg of ripe peaches after purchasing, use a knife to peel off the skin, then wash with diluted lemon water to prevent browning, and rinse again with clean water, then let it drain.

    Use a knife to cut the peach flesh away from the pit and place it on a plate. If the peaches are too large, you can chop them into smaller pieces!

    Put the peach flesh and 0.5 liters of water into a blender, then proceed to blend until smooth.

    Add the blended peach pulp and 250g of sugar into a pot, turn on the stove over medium heat and stir well, cooking for about 10 minutes until the mixture boils and starts to thicken, then turn off the heat and let it cool.

    Note:

    • To prevent the peach from burning, you need to stir continuously until the syrup thickens!
    • To make the peach syrup clearer and smoother after cooking, remember to skim off the foam while cooking.

  • Mixing the milk mixture

    Add 1.1 liters of fresh milk (5 packs/220ml), 380g of condensed milk (1 can) into a pot and stir well. At this point, gently pour in 1 liter of boiling water into this milk pot while stirring to maintain an even temperature in the mixture.

  • Add the yogurt starter and incubate

    You add 2 jars of yogurt starter into the pot, continue to stir well, then cover and let it incubate for 12 hours.

    Note:

    • If you don’t have yogurt starter, you can substitute it with regular eating yogurt.
    • During the incubation, you must not open the lid as it can cause the yogurt to curdle and separate.

    After the yogurt has been incubated, you add the peach juice, then stir well to combine the mixture.

  • Pour the yogurt into bags

    You use a funnel or spoon to scoop the yogurt into bags, then tightly tie the end and put it in the freezer refrigerator and let it freeze for 2 days before enjoying.
