Prepare the ingredients
Wash the sticky rice about 2 – 3 times with clean water. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the sticky rice, pour water to cover the surface of the sticky rice by about 1 finger length, and soak overnight.
Tip: To make the sticky rice grains swell evenly, be sticky and fragrant, and avoid being undercooked, you should soak the sticky rice before steaming.
You wash the pandan leaves and let them drain. For the banana leaves, use a cloth to wipe both sides clean.

Steaming sticky rice
Take the sticky rice out of the basket and let it drain. Place the banana leaves in the steamer (not completely covering the steamer), add the sticky rice, and spread it evenly on the banana leaf.
Add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil to the sticky rice and mix well. Next, add all the prepared pandan leaves and sprinkle them evenly over the sticky rice.
Steam over medium heat for about 45 minutes, during the steaming process, frequently open the lid to wipe off the steam, and use chopsticks to mix the sticky rice so it cooks evenly.
