  • Prepare the Ingredients

    Carrots, potatoes, and onions should be washed several times with water to remove dirt, then drained and prepared.

    Peel the carrots and dice them. Peel the potatoes and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Peel the onions and slice them thinly.

    Cut the beef into large pieces, then wash it clean and let it drain.

    • To prevent potatoes from turning brown after peeling, you can soak the cut potatoes in water.
    • To eliminate the smell of beef while ensuring that the nutrients are preserved, you can try using a clean, damp cloth to wipe the meat once or rub it with crushed ginger.

  • Marinate the beef

    Add the following spices in order: 1/2 spoon of minced ginger, 1/2 spoon of minced garlic, 3 spoons of oyster sauce, 2 spoons of seasoning powder, 2 spoons of sugar, 1.5 tablespoons of olive oil, a little ground pepper into a bowl containing 400g of beef short rib.

    Mix well until the mixture is evenly absorbed into each piece of meat, marinate for about 15 – 20 minutes.

  • Stir-fry ingredients with beef

    Place a pot on the stove, and when the pot is hot, add 1.5 teaspoons of Olive oil. After about 5 minutes when the oil is heated, add 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic and fry until fragrant.

    Add the marinated beef short ribs and stir-fry over medium heat until the meat begins to change color and firm up, then add the carrots. Stir continuously for about 5 minutes, then cover the pot to allow the carrots to cook quickly for about 5 minutes.

    Add the potatoes, stir well, then continue to cover for 5 minutes to cook the potatoes quickly. Next, add about 200ml of water to the pot and cover to continue simmering until the meat, potatoes, and carrots are softer.

    Finally, add all the sliced onions and cover the pot again.

  • Cook the curry

    Add 1 Japanese curry cube to the pot, stirring gently until the curry cube completely dissolves in the water.

    Continue cooking over low heat for 10 – 15 minutes so that the meat absorbs the spices and the vegetables become softer and tastier.
