How to make Vegetarian Flower Sausage from bread

  • Prepare the carrots and green beans

    For the green beans, snap off both ends, peel the fibers from both sides, then rinse with diluted salt water, and wash again a few times and let drain.

    For the carrots, peel the skin, remove the ends, wash clean, then cut lengthwise to get the full length of the carrot, with each piece about 1/3 of a finger thick.

    Prepare about 1 liter of boiling water in a pot, add the green beans and carrots, boil with 2 teaspoons of vegetarian seasoning, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 teaspoons of sugar, cover and boil for about 5 – 7 minutes until cooked, then remove and soak in cold water!

    Tip: Soaking the green beans and carrots in cold water helps them become crispier!

  • Prepare the tomato sauce

    Wash the tomatoes, cut them in half, remove the seeds, and then blend them in a blender until smooth.

    Next, heat the pan, add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, 1 tablespoon of fried onion, when the oil is hot, add the blended tomatoes, add 1 teaspoon of salt, 3 teaspoons of vegetarian seasoning, and 3 tablespoons of sugar, and mix well.

    Cook for about 5 – 7 minutes until the sauce thickens, season to taste for your family, then turn off the heat and add chopped coriander, and 2 teaspoons of pepper, mix well.

    Cut the vegetarian ham into long strips, about 1/3 of a finger thick.

    Use scissors to cut the bread in half lengthwise into two equal parts.

  • Forming the sausage

    You spread a layer of tomato sauce on the inner side of the bread, then you gradually add a green bean and a piece of carrot into it, rolling it up tightly. You do the same for all the prepared ingredients.

    Next, you wet a piece of rice paper, place the bread filled with vegetables inside, and continue to wrap it tightly with your hands. After that, place it inside a banana leaf, roll it up tightly at both ends, and use a string to tie it tightly like a cylindrical cake!

    You boil water in a steamer, then put the sausage in, cover it tightly and steam for about 10 – 15 minutes!
